BORO BARBECUEThe Dicksboro club grounds in Palmerstownwere a hive of activity on Friday, May 29 when the GAA andCamogie Club hosted a Mini Blitz and Barbecue. Held on a sunny, if rather chilly, evening with not a drop of rain in sight the huge crowd of children and adults enjoyed a fun-filled evening.
It  started with mini games for boys and girls in the under-6 to under-12 age range. This was followed by a barbecue serving all kinds of goodies. Also available were a shop, ice cream, mineral bar – which were all kept very busy during the hectic evening.

A sincere thanks to all you organised and all those who helped out during the event – way too numerous to mention individually Thanks also to those who attended and supported the event on the evening.
The main sponsor of Dicksboro GAA Club Juvenile Section,Aut Even Hospital, was represented on the evening by Debbie Woodcock, Marketing Manager.

ST. CANICE'S PARISH FETE – There was a fantastic turn-out on Sunday for St Canice's Parish fete in St Canice's School and James's Park. After Mass in the community hall, it was all go with huge queues for the tasty burgers organised by Sheila Moore and her crew. Fr Kieran O'Shea did the draw for the raffle while Fr Jim Murphy mingled with parishioners. Members of the parish committee did a great job and the rodeo bull was a huge success.

Two Very Different Matches
by Clíona Dunne
Two matches in quick succession for Dicksboro U14 girls could not have had more different results. Our first match was against Gowran and it was hard luck to the girls who were beaten by a very strong Gowran team on Thursday May 28. The girls gave a great performance but unfortunately Gowran emerged as the victorious side on the night.

Our next match against Danesfort told a different story as the Dicksboro U14 camogie team beat Danesfort on Sunday May 31. The girls were dominant all over the field and were the well deserved winners. The final score of 10-4 to 1-2 means that Dicksboro have won 4 out of 7 matches so far, placing us in a good position for the upcoming quarter final draws.
